Description
The default username of WordPress is set to “admin” after installation, this cannot be changed in the WordPress Dashboard. One option is to change the admin username in the MySQL database manually or to just use this plugin.
After activating the plugin click on “Change Admin Username” in the “Users” menu on the Dashboard. You will see a form displaying your current login and a field where you can enter your desired new username. Simply enter the new username in the form, click “Save Changes” and follow the provided “Log in” link to login with your new username.

Steps to install the plugin
1. Download the wp-change-admin-username.zip file
2. Go to Plugins->Add New, cluck Upload
3. Choose file wp-change-admin-username.zip then click Install Now
4. Click Activate Plugin
5. Go to ‘Users->Change Admin Username’ to change your admin username.
Alternative Steps to install the plugin
1. Download the wp-change-admin-username.zip file
2. Unzip the file
3. Upload “wp-change-admin-username” folder to the “/wp-content/plugins/” directory
4. Go to Plugins->Installed Plugins, then click Activate
5. Go to ‘Users->Change Admin Username’ to change your admin username.
